Notwist: Neuer Song und Deal mit Sub Pop

Ohweia, das lässt mein Herz grad höher schlagen. Auf Deezer ist ein neuer Notwist Song aufgetaucht. Damit aber noch nicht genug, so wie es ausschaut haben Notwist mit SubPop eine neue oder zweite Labelheimat gefunden.

CAN YOU GUESS WHO/WHAT ARTIST(S) WE SIGNED?

Running a record label is a fast-paced, multifaceted operation, though most of our efforts going into designing, printing, and slinging t-shirts (business tip: t-shirts are where the real money is). But, every once in a while, we take a break from all that t-shirt stuff and we get to sign an artist that we’ve been HUGE fans of for years—artists with an established fan base who would be welcome at any record label that they please (why they choose us, we’ll never know).

Well, this glorious and career-justifying event has just happened to us, and before we announce which musical artist or artists that you’re likely already a fan of that just joined the Sub Pop family, we’d like to play a little game with you (and your ears). Embedded in this post is a 15-second clip of the first focus track off of the to-be-named-later’s (specifically, we’re announcing it on Tuesday, November 19th) Sub Pop debut album. We will select a random person from the winning entries and they will receive a Loser Edition Bundle from the artist in question. So, take a listen and join in the on the guessing fun, because if not, you’ll likely feel wistful about it later.

Here’s how the game is played:

-Play the 15-second clip embedded in this post.

-Wager a guess as to what sonic geniuses could possibly be behind this song.

-Give us your guess via a comment below (include your email in the comment), on Instagram or Twitter (@subpop), or on the Facebook post associated with this contest.

-One winning entry will be chosen at random and will receive the limited, Loser Edition Bundle (T-shirt, LP, anything else that may be associated with the release) upon release date.

-Tell all of your friends how much you like Sub Pop Records and how handsome we are and stuff.

The full track and signing announcement will be made public on Tuesday, November 19th. A winner will be picked that day as well!
